…75 percent of Vietnam-era veterans polled disagreed with the statement, ‘Those people at home who opposed the Vietnam war often blame veterans for our involvement there’ ” while “94 percent said their reception by people their own age who had not served in the armed forces was friendly.”

This illustrates how increased access to information does not necessarily lead to enlightenment on the part of the populace.  Most U.S. citizens, liberals and conservatives alike, still accept this narrative as valid.  ‘Support the Troops’ is one of the most lethal of all our brain-dead national slogans, and it remains so even with a liberal Democrat in the White House.
