DON’T BELIEVE THE CORPORATE MEDIA HYPE
When you see another portrayal of Iran as an “anti-Semitic” nation, don’t just ignore it. Take a moment to recognize that the bearer of this message is contributing to a campaign of slander against Iran. Then take another moment to consider whether this message is being passed on as a conscious contribution to the anti-Iran campaign, or just as a case of lazy reporting.
It has already been established that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad did not say that he wanted to ‘wipe Israel off the map,’ though you’ll never see that in corporate media reports (alas, I heard even Bill Moyers repeat this canard the other day). Adding this lie to willful ignorance of Ahmadinejad’s limited powers in Iran– not to mention his relatively limited popularity among the Iranian population at large– allows the ‘bomb Iran’ crowd to use a manufactured existential threat to Israel as an excuse for their genocidal stance.
Now feast your eyes on a bit more evidence that Iran poses no threat to Israel. Via Antiwar.com, here’s a story about a Holocaust docudrama that is all the rage in Iran.
