Falsehoods, lies, misrepresentations, etc.: not important, you say? Well, let’s refer once again to that book that little Georgie publicly claims to hold dear:

“He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.” (Luke 16:10) ‘Little white lies’ are still lies, even if they aren’t just about blow jobs.

“If a man walking after wind and falsehood had told lies {and said,} ‘I will speak out to you concerning wine and liquor,’ he would be spokesman to this people. (Micah 2:11) I think the “this people” referred to in this scripture must be U.S. cornservatives.

Ephraim feeds on wind, And pursues the east wind continually; He multiplies lies and violence. Moreover, he makes a covenant with Assyria, And oil is carried to Egypt. (Hosea 12:1) Maybe I should start referring to G.W. as “little Ephraim.”

You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, You have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your way, in your numerous warriors, therefore a tumult will arise among your people, and all your fortresses will be destroyed, as Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel on the day of battle, {When} mothers were dashed in pieces with {their} children. Thus it will be done to you at Bethel because of your great wickedness. At dawn the king of Israel will be completely cut off. (Hosea 10:13-15) Is this a prophecy? Yikes! I’d better not vote Republican in 2004!

“Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion…” (Proverbs 30:8 )

The context of this scripture indicates that Solomon is asking this of God. I wonder if he would have settled for a piece of cold turkey (there’s a joke about kicking cocaine and alcohol habits there, but we’ll leave that for another time.
